Peter Chang, PGA, Head Golf Professional

I grew up in the small town of Fredon, New Jersey and fell in love with the game of golf in middle school, reading every golf book I could get my hands on from Ben Hogan’s 5 Lessons to Harvey Penick’s Little Red Book. I graduated from The American University where I played on the golf team. Upon graduating, I joined my mentor and legendary golf instructor David Glenz as an instructor at the David Glenz Golf Academy before being hired as the lead assistant at Black Oak Golf Club. I continued to advance my career and gain valuable experience as an Assistant Professional at Fairmount Country Club, where I managed the golf operations. Golf is my passion, hobby, and career all rolled into one, and I’m thrilled to share my enthusiasm for the game of golf with the members and guests at Copper Hill Country Club.

My philosophy regarding teaching the game of golf is multifaceted. I do not believe there is a ‘method’ that suits all golfers. Rather there is a set of fundamentals that will assist the student in finding their own ideal game. Thus, dependent on the student’s goals, we will formulate a plan to help you achieve said goals physically, technically, and mentally. It’s a beautiful game that should be enjoyed by all!

Jason Reed, PGA, Lead Assistant Golf Professional

I grew up in southern New Jersey where he excelled at many sports. I fell in love with the game of golf during my freshman year in high school, working on my game at Ramblewood CC. I was a natural and quickly emerged as one of the top players in the State, earning All-State honors twice and winning the State Championship my senior year. I continued my journey competing for Greensboro College, which won the National Championship during my time there. It was at this time that I wanted to make the game of golf my career, continuing my education at the Golf Academy of America and earning my Class A PGA Membership. My passion for the game and considerable amount of experience in all aspects of golf operations make me a perfect addition to our team.

I grew up in Salem, Massachusetts and relocated to New Jersey in 1999.

I transitioned into the golf business at the age of 39 in 1994 after a career in Banking and High Tech.

Starting as an Assistant Professional at Essex County Club in Manchester by the Sea, Massachusetts in 1994 I spent 5 seasons at Essex before journeying to New Jersey, holding positions of Assistant Professional, Golf Events Manager, Head Professional and Director of Golf at facilities in NJ and PA: Bear Brook, Fiddlers Elbow, Royce Brook and Yardley CC. I have been a PGA Member since 1999 and a member of the Quarter Century Club of the PGA. While at Royce Brook I was chosen as the New Jersey PGA Merchandiser of the Year in 2011 and 2014 and was honored with Head Professional of the Year by Billy Casper Golf company in 2010.

I am officially “retired”, but soon found I missed helping golfers enjoy the game of golf, joining Copper Hill in the Spring of 2020.
